Traditional “pulled” pie from Mani

Instructions

Sift the flour, add the salt, yeast and olive oil and mix.

Slowly add water until you get a soft and sticky dough. With a little more flour, knead very softly.

Cover the dough with a towel and let it rest and rise at room temperature. For better results, put it in the fridge afterwards for at least 8 hours.

Flour your hands, take a small amount of dough and pull it gently until it becomes a round pie. If you want, you can also add cheese, such as sfela – a traditional cheese from Mani.

For frying, add olive oil into the pan (not too hot). Fry over medium heat and turn the pies so they cook evenly on both sides.

Serve with a generous amount of Muses Honey!

250 gr all-purpose flour

½ pack of dry yeast (4 gr)

1 Tbs olive oil

Salt

Lukewarm water

Olive oil for frying
